I am trying to renew my mobile phone contract but Jeez!! you EE guys don't make it easy do you!!!!

There is a message in MyEE that says my contract has expired. Why isn't there a big button right next to it that says "RENEW"?

I have looked everywhere for the option to renew but all I can find is upgrade - I don't want an upgrade.

I tried calling the 150 number but that just sent me a txt message with a link that directed me back to the web site!!

PLEASE, could somebody advise me how I can renew my contract ?

There is no need to renew a contract. You can just leave it as it is. These mobile contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly cancel, upgrade or port your no. away. There will however be a 10% discount after 3 months. You may always choose to upgrade your contract to a cheaper SIM-Only contract.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Upgrade is taking out a new contract, doesn't necessarily mean more expensive You could be downgrading, but it's still called an upgrade instead of renewing.

An upgrade is just signing on to a new contract with different terms, doesn't necessarily mean going "up". You can upgrade to SIM Only or a Handset.

Sometimes you have promotional discounts for the length of your tariff's minimum term which can drop off and upgrading allows you sign back onto a new tariff if you want to.

But of course you don't have to do anything and can let your existing contract roll on a 1 Month rolling basis until you want to upgrade or change your tariff or leave the network or whatever you would like to do.

Hey, thanks for the useful replies, glad to hear that I don't need to renew!! I wondered about the fact that it said my contract has expired but also said I was on a discounted rate!!

I think I'm still paying for my Apple Watch, but when that finishes I might consider renewing and seeing what rates are available.

Thanks

If you were on a device plan then at the end of the minimum term you should do something or you are effectively over-paying every month for nothing.  If sim only, you can carry on, rewew, or cancel, it's up to you.  If you're happy with the amount you pay and what's included, you can just leave it until something better comes along.

Once you have paid for your Apple watch and reach the end of the minimum term, if you want to continue with mobile connectivity, the monthly Apple Watch plan is the one to move to. This can then be cancelled with 30 days notice at any time.
