Sim contact ending but phone contract ends next year

My sim contract end on the 29th November but my phone contract ends next year. I asked for deals for just the sim and the agent said if I take a sim deal with another company then I would be charged a edf as even though it’s two separate contracts, they are stilled tied. That doesn’t seem right because they sent me a text and put two different edf charges, one being just £5. Does anyone know if he was lying?

Once the min. contract term for the SIM plan has expired you may port to another network FoC & continue to pay for your device's FlexPay until that expires.

One obvious question is to point out that the airtime element of your FlexPay plan is, effectively, a SIM-only plan.

So what do you mean by "I asked for deals for just the SIM"? You already have one.
