Hi, I’m on upgrade anytime from 16 May 2023; I wanted to upgrade as it’s within 45 days, however I’ve just learnt it’s now changed to 30 days. If my contract was signed for in 2023 shouldn’t the 45 days still stand? My broadband is also up for renewal so ideally I wanted to upgrade both today.
can anyone let me know the definitive legislation about the change to 30 days being relevant to contracts taken out prior to the May 2024 change.
TYIA.

Hi, thank you for the reply and link to the terms I appreciate that. However it doesn’t actually include any of the info I need specifically clarified. It only mentions upgrade anytime not usual end of term upgrades 45 days/30 days.
I really find it shocking that there isn’t an option to complete this online via chat or being able to complete this in app/user area etc I’m neurodivergent and calling somewhere is like personal hell.

Hi @Mls7
Thanks for coming back to me 🙂
Eligible EE pay monthly customers can upgrade with no fee if you have less than 30 days until the plan ends, details can be found in the When Can I Upgrade My Phone? page.
Early upgrade charges if applicable would show when you select upgrade in your EE account.
If you would like to raise a complaint regarding the contract and the early upgrade eligibility, please see the Make a Complaint page, there is a web form you can complete and the team will get back to you.
