Hi I’ve been on a pay monthly phone contract which has been cancelled literally today (as in I can’t call anyone as of today) so now I have no number. Is there anyway of recovering this number asap and starting a new contract with ee

Pay-monthly phones are not just cancelled without the account holder explicitly requesting disconnection, are you the account holder.

What makes you think the line has been disconnected? As opposed to there being a local loss-of-service, for example?

Hi yes it’s my fault,

there was a cancellation request as my dad was paying for it so he wanted me to sort out switching accounts to get me to pay for it, it just completely slipped my mind till today when it’s gone

On this I’m not the account holder but my dad is and he’s happy to sort it out if possible

@conorobrien25  if the line was on your dad account then only the account holder can request this to be reinstated and this needs to be done ASAP.   You’ll then need the account holder to request a change of ownership by calling customer support.  Ideally you need to be present as you need to accept the change of ownership and you’ll need to pass a credit check.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Can he just recover the account and then it stays his for now - and then we can sort out switching it over once the number is back? Also would later today be okay for this?

@conorobrien25  The sooner you do it the better. If it’s left to long then you number will be gone for good

You cannot sort this out, it's not your account to do so. It is the account holder which needs to "sort out switching", it's their account...

Bear in mind that the payment method can be changed without altering the legal liability for the phone. You can simply change the direct debit account, or make manual payments using a credit or debit card.

Anyone with your Dad's my EE onine account login can change the direct debit details, if that's another solution. Depends whether you want this phone to be in your Dad's name, or in your name. The latter does need a change of ownership.
