Leaving EE at the end of the contract

Hi,

I'm at the end of a 24 month contract, contract is ending on 9th of December. Last payment of the contract is due at 19th of November, but I can upgrade free of charge now. As I'm going to leave EE anyway, I'm wondering when can I request pac code without incurring any charges? Would be now, as I'm being offered free upgrade, after last payment has been taken or after the day contract runs out on 9th of December? I've got my eyes on one deal that will run out after black Friday and I'd be keen to get it before it's expired.

It's not when you request your PAC that matters (they have a 30-day validity) but when it is used by your new network to port your no. The fact that you may upgrade now only applies to taking a new contract with EE, not with somebody else.

That actually clarifies things a little bit. So when can I actually send the pac code to the new supplier to be on the safe side so I don't incur any charges? My understanding would be that once it's paid off, which in my case is 19th of November, it should not matter anymore to EE as I've fulfilled my bits on the contract?

Yes, in your case you should be to port out once your final bill has been paid since that bill will already include any payments due up to 9th Dec.
