After many years as a loyal customer, EE unilaterally changed my contract and increased my direct debit payments with no warning.
Apalling, and I would imagine, borderline illegal behaviour.
Got my PAC code today and will happily look for another provider now.

@ollsher Did you read your contract T&Cs that state you will see a price increase each year ? This year it was a 9.3 percent increase. This is not illegal as it’s clearly stated in the contract that you agree to. This happens every year and not just with EE.

Yes Chris, I did read my contract and I am well aware of annual increases, I am aware that they are not illegal and I am aware that it happens with all providers.
@Chris_B did you read my post? Are you aware that EE changed my contract completely, increased my limits, my data and changed the length of my contract. Are you aware that they have admitted this via a phone call since I posted, and offered to 'look into what went wrong'. This will not however change my decision.

Hi @ollsher
Did you make a complaint via EE complaints process?
You've obvious made your mind up about leaving. Good luck with your new network. Don't forget to check your device/s are not locked. EE unlocking process is here:
Thanks

Hi @Northerner
I did make a complaint and that's why they called me to discuss (and confirm) what had happened. No valid reason for the change in contract or the 54% increase in my DD, but did say they could look into it.
Like you say, I had already made up my mind anyway which is a pity as I have been with EE (T-mobile) since I got my first phone.
Thank you for the useful links and the unlocking advice. Very helpful 👍

@ollsher They admitted it after a phone call since you made the post !! Well that clears everything thing up doesn’t it. You saw fit to post before speaking with customer services so you didn’t give all the facts in your first comment. How I’m I or anyone else supposed to try and help when you don’t give ALL the information.
