Hi,

Please could I have the fraud department contact phone number? Someone has used my identity to take out a phone contract and I need to speak to the fraud department to report this

Thanks

Danny

This issue is still not resolved, I still haven’t been able to talk to the fraud department. I have spoken to action fraud who have confirmed this is a crime and to give the defence number to the EE fraud department

The fraud department will not do anything, you have to take them to court, see the image attached, they will confirm it's identity theft and pass it on to a debt collection agency, give the debt collectors the crime reference number and they will leave you alone, you have to take EE to a small claims court to get it removed

This is crazy,

@Christopher_G @James_B  can anyone from EE explain this? How can a company acts so reprehensibly??

Because it's not illegal, they just act stupid until they're forced to do otherwise, they claim they don't know how to deal with identity theft and a court has to tell them to deal with it

@Drl90 Should I wait for the ombudsman (who I assume will side with EE)? Or start the small claims process now? Any luck getting attention of media to this ridiculous situation?

The ombudsman can't rule on fraud, thats who my image was from, EE told the ombudsman it was identity theft but the ombudsman aren't trained to deal with that stuff. You need to go to court to get this resolved. I've spoken to one but I think more people need to come forward so it's not just an isolated incident.

@Drl90 @Have you taken them to court? What kind of claim should I file? Did you pay the contract fees and claim them back? If I don’t pay my credit rating will be destroyed and unable to get a mortgage. I can’t believe this can happen so easily. @Christopher_G @James_B @Schockwave  can you explain this? I won’t ever stop until it’s solved.

I'm waiting for a court date but yes it will stop you getting a mortgage, that's why you have to take them to court asap. You need to start a money claim, Google money claim online and take them to court for the amount they claim you owe them

@Danny_125 , I am a customer like you, so cannot give you any further answer, sorry. Did you reply to the private message sent to you?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@Schockwave  Yep and they refuse to talk to me. I’ve spoken to a lawyer who has advised that it is fraud and not just identity theft. If you’re a customer I’d suggest you leave them and use a company that doesn’t do this to innocent people.
