What is the actual point of having EE insurance?

Zalasta

I just recently had to make an insurance claim on my device. When I contacted EE and spoke with the insurance department, it went brilliantly, honestly couldn't ask for better.

Was told they could get a replacement out the very next day and collect my faulty device at the same time. £50 total excess. Was told I would get a 1hr time slot from DPD before the delivery.

Never recieved a DPD 1hr slot update in regards to  my order until 15 mins after the driver had arrived, and I only got that because I had a seperate delivery coming through DPD from another retailer.

So when the driver arrived unannounced and my phone was still backing up, I didn't have time to factory reset it, so he left without collecting it. I was told by the driver that it wasn't a big problem and he would be back tomorrow.

I contacted EE immediately after and they told me the same thing, don't worry we will attempt again tomorrow. Fast forward a few hours and I get an update staring the delivery was now being shipped back to EE and would not in fact be delivered again the next day.

I phone EE immediately and after being put on hold for 45 minutes of a 58 minute call, I get told no worries again, we can get that sent out the very next day or day after. Although now suddenly it's going to be £150 excess. After more waiting, I'm now told I can either pay £150 to get it the next day, or I have to wait 10 days before I can contact them again and start the process all over again.

What the actual f**k? Really?

Are you going to refund me the last decade of insurance payments because what the hell was I paying for all this time? Stress ulcers?
