I got declined for a credit check for a 12months sim only plan.
I left EE in June this year after a 24months phone contract, where I never missed a payment. I want to come back, as I get Best reception and speed where I live with EE. However, I got declined for some reason. I'm thinking it could be due to new bank account, I switched banks last week and gave details of my new bank account on the checkout it got declined, then I tried again using old details - my balance and DD still haven't been switched I'm on day 5 of the switch. However, it got declined again. I'm bit disappointed as I said had a contract that just run out in June and my payments always been on time, is there a way to query this?

@Mac95 It’s probably because of the new bank account and the 2 attempt got refused because you had already tried. EE don’t have to give you an explanation of why they refused you.

Hi @Mac95
Thanks for coming here.
If you call us on 0800 956 6000, the team can check the application and let you know any information that is showing for why this was declined.

Hi
I called the above number, explained that I used the new bank account for the first check, and I've been EE customer on a 24months phone contract but the lady told me she can not acees the information why the credit checked has been declined and there is nothing she can do.
Is there a email address or phone number to call the team that is doing the credit checks?
I found these online
credit.queries@ee.co.uk
crqueries@ee.co.uk

Thanks for coming back to me @Mac95
You can find details in our How does EE use my credit file information? article, on ways to query your credit file.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Hey, you are not the only one, I have been EE customer for 4 years and they declined me as well, when I haven’t missed a single payment in the last 4 years. I think something is up with their system.

Same happed with me, they are being secretive about it when it’s not making sense what’s up and they are treating me as if I’m a criminal. I should have the right to know what’s going on unless how can it be corrected.

I would just say that they lost a good customer. I will never take a contract with them again. I believe this is a downfall for ee, claiming to be the best provider, who don’t care about their customers.

@Madiha2 It’s your credit file that’s checked and when the system says no it’s a no and that’s it end off. EE don’t owe you an explanation on why you got rejected. But if your already a customer you’re comment doesn’t make sense as your already a customer. But you do have a credit limit that EE are prepared to go to with yourself
And EE don’t claim to be the best provider. EE are awarded it.

I got myself 1p mobile in the end.
No credit checks, runs on ee network, no speed limits like EE has , no contract, eu roaming, cheaper too.
