I have just notice I am paying an extra £11 per month for a Ess Device 4G.
When I upgraded my phone in November, I was told I would get a device for FREE and was told I absolutely wouldn’t pay for it.
they also tried to sell me broadband which I also said no to as I already have it sorted.
I feel absolutely ripped off my EE.
I have been with EE/ orange since I got my first phone 11 years ago. I think it’s disgusting how you can secretly add this onto someone’s bill.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @Erika191
I recommend speaking to our Mobile Care team so that they can open a complaint against your account and look into this.
@Ksk1 - I would suggest doing the same thing so that they can check on your complaint.
Please keep us posted on what happens.

Hi Leanne
I have realized that I have the same issue - in June 2022 I went into the Kingston store to renew my contract and get a new phone. As I have been a customer with EE for many years, the shop assistant offered me a free tablet. I did not want the tablet to start with as I use my ipad but took it anyway. Never was I informed that I would have to pay a monthly fee for the tablet. I have called EE to request a copy of the contract for the tablet as I do not have it but EE cannot send me a copy so this is all very confusing and inadmissible situation...
I would be grateful if you could get back to me.
Many thanks

Morning @JulieB5
Thanks for coming to the community, I'm sorry to hear this has happened.
Have you been back to the store to get this looked into and to see if they have the copy of the contract for you?

Morning Leanne
I have not been to the store yet as I am currently away. I will once back but I have raised a formal complaint with EE and will go to the Ombudsman if necessary. It is not right that EE uses predatory tactics to trick customers and that I cannot access my contract online. I also find shocking that so many people are complaining about the same issue! EE is clearly letting this happen!
regards
julie

They will produce a contract which you electronically signed but you will have only signed the front sheet and they will have copied your signature across everything so you have no comeback. I

I went to ombudsman and they stuck to the 'you signed a contract' line and offered a few quid compensation. My contract has now ended and I'm moving elsewhere as EE support their lieing store staff so they can hit targets.

Matter resolved. For info - The shop assistant got me to take this tablet under the pretence of it being a gift for being a loyal customer… I had not asked for that tablet, I never used that tablet. If it was a gift, I shouldn’t have to pay for it! The sales tactics are deceitful and EE needs to address this - too many people are complaining about the same issue; the problem comes from EE, not the customers that got tricked!
