Billing higher than plan

Hi all,

wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the below. My bill really is rediculous for what I get, this is sim only, and the data runs out every month. Any thoughts on why I am also being charged more than the £9.99 and £24 agreed costs?

Seems to me that I'm owed a refund?

Many thanks,

helena

£24 is the price the plan started at, but over the years it will have increased yearly and whilst the plan name stays the same, the price goes up. The same with add-ons.

Is this your 1st bill? Was it posted about 12 days after you started? If so, you are paying for those prior days as well as a month in advance. Your next bills should be back to normal.

Your full bill breakdown should confirm the dates theory that has been explained above, I suspect you're only looking at the summary bill via the app.

Check which date you connected to EE, and which date in the month your bills are being produced?

Hey,

Thanks for your reply. No, unfortunately I've had this contract for about 5 year now but truthfully and embarrassingly only just realised how bad it is.

This is roughly the same cost every month.

thanks,

helena

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, as I have noted to xrayspex, it's an old contract and this is the same every month. I should have ungraded my contract a long time ago, but don't think that it's right for EE to have been charging above their own rates. If this is correct.

Thanks,

helena

Thanks, that makes sense. Still a crazy price for 3GB of data...

oh well!

Ah, 5 years! You've had a no. of annual CPI + 3.9% contractual price increases over that time. You are now being billed about 40% more than the original prices. The CPI+ 3.9 % price increase this year was 7.9% & last year was 14.4%. Those 2 alone will account for 23.5% of the increase. I can't remember the previous year, 2022, but it was about 10% making the total increase about 35.8%. Which about checks!

I suspect you're on a 30day notice SIM-only, thus have no minimum term period.

Better value will always be obtained from a 12 or 24month minimum-term.

That'll be it! 🙂 Thanks for the help!
