I have been billed for calls to a number that I did not make. 100% I did not make them. I was on call to customer services for 1 hour trying to sort this out. It felt like they thought that I was lying but I was telling the truth and they did not listen. Did EE make the call to get more money out of me. Can they prove it?

Hi sorry the end number is 2.
0018003973342

That looks like a US toll-free no.

The 1800 part would be a free-call number if dialled from within the US.
Even if you are able to dial this (which won't always work), it would be charged as an international call

Did they manage to resolve the issue in the end?? I am projected to be charged £132 for a 29min call I DID NOT make to 0018442221938 for my bill next month. The numbers are so similar…it must be a scam of some kind. When I try to google the number, nothings coming back and there’s absolutely no record of the call in my phone log. It’s baffling how EE are allowing this to happen.

@J0hn3v16 : That's correct! That no. is an International Call to USA charged @ £4.64 / min. So a 29 mins call costs £134.56.
Perhaps you double-dialled the 1st '0' turning it into the International prefix.

No. The point I am making is that I did not dial that number…If I did dial the number it would be registered on my phones call log like all the other calls I made that day - and it isn’t.
so I’m baffled as to how EE are charging/plan to charge their customers from calls that were never made. They need to investigate this because clearly myself and the person above a year apart having THE SAME SITUATION happen via the same mobile provider is not a coincidence. I was previously with O2 and never had anything like this happen…switched over to EE and 4 months later, this nonsense is taking place.

Then, @J0hn3v16 , phone CS & query the charge.

Already have thank you.
My original post was directed to the EE customer (ZZR14) who experienced the same thing me. I wanted to know what the outcome was for them in the end.
Appreciate your input though 🙂

Same thing here. It all started in July. I have residency in 2 countries and I have been here on vacations. I was not using my uk number because I have a local one from the country Im in now. Since march. Now in July i received a bill of 25 pounds extra saying I received calls from the uk and answered them which I have not. The dates dont even match with dates of calls on my phone. They gave me 10 credit, i turned the roaming off, voice mail was already off so couldnt be that, anyway i thought it was a mistake and let go. Now in August another 50 pound charge! Im on the chat with the manager right now because that is insane. Always finding excuses and saying we are lying. Now he said the spending cap is off so there wont be no more charges but idc, what about the previous ones?

Mine are numbers to the UK mostly, in the end theyve said they removed the charge from my bill but I spent a long time in the chat and had to speak to the manager. Im also a long time customer and I pay a lot for my phone plan.
