Yes, you have the Smart WiFi add-on. A SIM should be with the mobile router. Otherwise it's useless as a fallback as guaranteed by EE. If you don't have it call CS to demand it.

@Navrig68 : Did you order the EE Smart WiFi add-on @ £10 pm with your BB when you renewed? That's what the 4GEE Wifi Mini is part of. It should come with a SIM. It's the SIM that provides the 2GB of data pm.

Did you also get some a white Smart Router & some Smart WiFi Discs?

Hi Sorry to be a numpty so hope someone can help me in simple terms.

I have just received my Smart router and disc - all set up and running (but not solving all my problems but more on that later)

Included with the router and disc is a WIFI Mini and it explains how to set it up, however what exactly is it used for?  There is no information on how much data is on the sim card and it includes a top up card.   I am on unlimited data so why would I need this?  Is this Mini only for use when the main router is down?  or can I use it as a mobile hotspot?

I opted for the smart router and disc as I have poor reception in our lounge.  When I set up the disc and carried out a signal strength the EE Home app told me the signal strength was poor and to move the disc nearer to the router, which I did.  I moved the disc to the area in which I got a reasonable signal (the Hall) and that is ok However I still have a poor signal in the lounge - do I need an additional disc?

@Vennwood : The mobile router is provided for you to use as a fall-back for when your BB is down but you can use it as a hotspot whenever & wherever you like.

Thankis for that - what about useage though - is this in addition so I would need to buy data each month if I used it or if I use it as a fallback I don't need to buy data each month?

It's PAYG. However when your BB is down for any extensive period you can ask EE to put some data on it.
