have been on ee broadband since January 2025 (transferring from BT)
out the blue 6 months later the smart wifi plus (extender) doesnt work, i keep ending up with a flashing purple!
i) used the app and ive hit the wps button and tried pairing it, no joy end up with flashing purple
ii) ive reset it, used the app and ive hit the wps button and tried pairing it, no joy end up with flashing purple
iii) Ive reset it, used a ethernet cable and tried to pair it, it connects (and stays solid purple) but when i remove the ethernet cable im back to square one with flashing purple
please help, i think the device is faulty, now i have to contact ee customer service, daunting long wait..

checked the page, the smart wifi plus doesnt list flashing or solid purple for troubleshooting

Called EE guide, they are sending a replacement smart wifi plus disc, apparently theyve had a few similar issues logged regarding this disc

If it's genuinely a Smart WiFi Plus unit (and not just Smart WiFi) then I'd concur that flashing purple is not expected in any circumstances.
When you receive the replacement, be sure to swap the power supply out too (you never know!) and let us know how you get on.

@Imz_Bham Sent the page just incase you where colour blind, you got the smart wireless device mixed up, or the whole gambit off what EE has is wrong and the colour does exist or a new FW update got the whole thing mixed up, who knows what goes on!

Lots of people saying the same thing and oddly enough - all migrants from BT to EE. I don't believe it's the hardware - I had same problem with pairing SW40J with SH40J and changed the extender but still the same issue - just have to play about pairing it but when moved back problem persists. I have found that by resetting ONT, Hub, Extender and then pairing using cable and then leaving both connected overnight helps and when moved back into place it works ... but only for a week or 2 and then same problem happens - why ? Not even EE knows ...

guess what instead of sending me a disc they sent me a hub/router, no idea why even thgouh i had emails saying they are sending me a ee wifi disc ..
had to get on to the phone to them again, complain and go through diognostics via video call.
now they are sending a replacement ee wifi disc, hopefully it is a ee wifi disc

Received the replacement (like for like) wifi disc today SW30A, plugged it i, went through setup on app took about 20 minutes and the wifi disc is up and running again

now i have to return a surplus router and the old wifi disc... pants
