pages with images slow to load

Been a customer of BT for many years, now moved over to ee due to the better pricing package offered, we have FTTC with 36 meg down / 6 up
Since moving over a few months ago I have noticed a considerable delay loading pages with lots of images from, say, Amazon, ebay and the like.....the roundel sits there spinning sometimes for over 30 sec before the images and page load completes, sometimes it never does.

We have both gigabit CAT7 ethernet and BT mesh wifi and use of a laptop and PC and it is the same on all combinations of equipment and connection

I re-connected an old BT smarthub 2 that I had and the problem immediately disappeared, re-connected the ee smart hub 3 and it returned.....proof enough to me that there is a problem with it, I have factory reset it to no avail

Added to this, if I connect using the 4 ethernet ports on the router to a smart TV, hard disc recorder, PC and NAS then we simultaneously noticed that the TV cannot access the photos on the NAS (it MAY do after several attempts, or may not), If I connect a (Netgear 5 port) ethernet switch to any port on the router and use the other ports on the switch to connect to my equipment it all works perfectly......with the old BT hub in place, it all works OK using the rear ethernet ports so I am at a loss as to what is happening

Ideas appreciated

Hmmm....that's not really the point though is it....they have issued me with a router that doesnt work and i have had to purchase one that does .....not satisfactory

@davidwf15 What's not the point what you have now works! That is all that is required!

point is I have had to pay extra to get a hub that works so I can use their service.....it's not on !

@davidwf15 Just use the BT Smarthub2, works and covers all you need!

After another 2 1/2  hour session on chat with ee during which they again insisted on a video call "to check your cabling and connections" they then sent me a totally useless diagram of my connections, all showing green, pointing out that as they were all good the problem must be with my cabling !!!???!!!....huh ???.... yes, totally contradicting their findings.
After pointing that out they agreed it was probably due to the known issue with the hub firmware, adding they would not be supplying me with a replacement hub as "there is no fault with it".....jees you couldnt make it up...........he then passed me on to his manager who went through the whole fiasco again and despite my assurance that, with the BT hub connected all the problems ceased they still insisted that it was not an issue with the ee hub.....he then asked me what I wanted them to do to fix it.
Somehow managing to keep my cool I again insisted they supplied a replacement which was flatly refused - I would have thought that, at this point it would have been good for customer relations to at least try one anyway but no, they then said they would send an ee expert out to my home to show me what the problem was.
I initially accepted but today cancelled that pointless exercise as, thanks to my long suffering tech guru we found that tracert and pings were super slow and he noticed that the results returned indicated an IPV6 connection....after turning that off in the router all pings and tracert commands are returned quickly and pages now load blisteringly quickly as they should!😀

This is the setting I turned off, I also proved that with it on, page loads were troublesome and turning it off again they were fine so hope that might help other people with similar problems

Thanks to all on the forum who responded so quickly

@davidwf15 Replacement EE Router would not have made any difference, not 100% sure if the BT Smarthub2 is iPv6 enabled by default you would have to check, www.whatismyipaddress.com will return both if it does.

Turning it off for you if that works then fine, but would be looking at what you have hanging off the router to see why iPv6 is not working that way. BT/EE have had it on and working for years but some devices do come across issues!

From what i can see on the limited screens for the BT Smarthub2 that i have iPv6 is in the advanced, as to if it is working or not could not say as did not test, will say though connected on one for 3 weeks would have spotted right off and checked out what was going on, fact i did not have to with the BT that would compare to your findings, opposite is on the EE Smarthub+ for 11 months if there was an issue on iPv6 for sure all off the network would have displayed, as i ping tested many times for OP's with speed stability and iPv6 address was always returned as the host's IP mostly bbc.com or google.com for the ping!
