When I visit my son I use his network pass key if I want to get on the internet. When I get home I have to re-enter my own pass key and when I next visit my son I have to repeat the process. How do I get the phone to save and remember different pass kays?

My phone connects automatically to previously used networks, and asks when it detects new ones.
Have you checked your phone settings? What phone is it?

@Justgeoff : It shouldn't be like that unless you & your son are using the same network name / SSID for your home WiFi networks. Are you? If so, you'd better rename 1 of them.
A phone will remember all the recent networks it has connected to & the pwd used for each of them individually.

That was the last in my range of Nexus/Pixel phones before the wife persuaded me to jump to Apple.
It automatically connected exactly as I described earlier.
