Wifi not as good a BT

We swapped to EE this year, thinking the Hub and WiFi would improve with wifi 7. Well, half the devices we have aren't compatible. The wifi boosters we have aren't spectacular.  We have 3. We need them as we have blackspots in the house. Our Ring doorbell equipment and security is struggling, with poor signal. We have to reboot our TV and box often as the speech often doesn't match up, the Firesticks jump and stutter, we've rebooted everything. Never had this with BT. 1 of the boosters constantly says too close, wherever we move it, too close to where, Mars? Lol

Hi @Ciborg23

Thanks for sharing your experience that sounds really frustrating. Wi-Fi 7 can offer faster speeds, but some older devices may not be compatible. It’s worth checking that the 2.4 GHz band is enabled in your Hub settings if it’s an option, as this is the frequency many products like Ring and Firesticks rely on.

For the booster showing “too close,” that usually happens when it’s receiving too strong a signal to create a proper mesh link. Try unplugging it, rebooting the Hub, and then setting it up again midway between the Hub and a blackspot, rather than next to the main unit.

If the problem continues, it might be worth contacting EE’s technical team. You can call 150 from your EE mobile or Digital Voice Phone for further assistance.
