Just changed to EE from Virgin and having issues with connecting HP Deskjet 4130e printer wirelessly, tried all the things listed on another thread.

Also cant connect to our server which is a synology NAS, changed the IP address on the server to the new EE address and still wont connect, a very frustrating experience thinking changing would be easy....any help appreciated.

@Glyn_Millsom : Try setting up Compatible WiFi on the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings & connect your problematic 2.4 GHz devices to that.

How's NAS connected to router?

What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Thank you for the reply.

I have set up Compatible wifi on the EE App and the printer still wont recognise the wifi....we can only operate it by a USB cable directly into the computer.

The Hive heating system has connected but takes around 10 minutes to work

The synology NAS wont connect, I have even changed the IP address on the NAS control panel to our new EE IP address but my PC wont connect

@Glyn_Millsom have you done it, "" factory reset hp deskjet 4130e "" if not search to do so. You may wish to also disable the 5Ghz band on the compatible and be sure it is set WPA2-PSK mode, printer goes no further than wifi4.

Hive heating control unit, is it the Ethernet connected model, if so you really need to say which EE Hub you are using!

Hi

We have Full Fibre Gigabit+ Premium with WiFi Optimiser smart hub SH403

1) HP Printer -Tried factory reset holding cancel & and X button down for 5 seconds ....still wont connect wirelessly.

2)  Not being a scientist how do I "disable the 5Ghz band?"

3) The hive does have a LAN connected to the EE HUB

4) Still cant access the Synology NAS server

Have we made a big mistake changing?

2) On the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings > Compatible WiFi untick 5GHz & tick 2.4 GHz (it should've defaulted to that anyway).

4) Yes, you told us you can't access the NAS but not how it is connected to the router?.

The NAS is connected by a LAN

@Glyn_Millsom See the Know Your Power | Hive Home and check out the support, there are a good few Hive Hub's in generational versions, and every chance that possibly what you have is just not going to work direct connected on the Pro Hub, some off the older Hive hubs only had very slow Ethernet spec and if so you will need to throw a switch in front off the units to buffer between....

@Glyn_Millsom Eventually found the info for the Ethernet, so check your hive version...

Problems connecting a wired device

Make sure both ends of the cable are fully inserted and you're trying to connect using one of your EE hub’s LAN ports, not the WAN port.

Try using a different LAN port or a different ethernet cable, make sure it’s at least CAT-5e, to rule out a hardware or cable fault.

Some of the latest EE hubs do not support 10Mbps Half-Duplex ethernet ports. If you think your device has one of these ports, you may need to connect it to your hub via a switch. You can also try connecting it to the LAN port on one of your Extender Plus devices instead if you have them.

This is becoming a bit surreal now. I am a customer not a qualified  computer engineer!

Is there any way to send someone out to set things  up? i  don't mind paying as this is disrupting my business.

Other than our phones ....nothing else works!
