Hi, is there an update or even better a solution?
Most of my appliances cannot from time to time get a wi fi signal. Alexa however can still work.

@JimM11 wrote:@Mitutoyo You need the input from @tdmello if you are in fact in the same position as he was with the BT Smarthub2 operation. Few months have passed now since the posting!
Hi Jim11, in fact you were mentioned on another forum as someone that may know what the problem is and had been helpful to another member 🙂 No pressure on you 🙂
In short my BT hub remains blue, laptops and BT set top box from time to time have no internet but Alexa still works. Lap tops can still see the hub.
Distance to hub is not the issue as we have had the hub, lap top and BT box in the same room. BT box was connected via a cable but changed to wi fi to see if that solved the problem but it does not.
EE have said this is the last time they will ask Openreach to visit. If it is not fixed it is either put up or they will release me from contract.
Have you any ideas?
thanks

@Mitutoyo See your getting all off the BT boy's love, they sure seem to have that thing for EE user's though it's 100% a BT Smarthub2! Not a member or that forum so will stick on this EE one.
Are you capable of having a look at the BT hub happy using the web manager to do so, using you laptop and not via a poxy mobile phone. Let me know.
Other question is do you have anything in particular out off left field from the default's that the BT Smarthub2 is setup, ie changed the ssid, changed the password as couple off examples. DO NOT wish you to do much until we see where the Router thinks it is at presently!

lol, yes. I do not understand why they have this thing about EE. Like you BT Hub, Openreach Line Plant, ask a BT forum.
Yes I think I am ok looking at the hub, I can access it via my lap top.
I may have got confused and yesterday changed the admin password. I don't know what ssid is.
What shall I look at on the hub?

The information posted on the BT forum suggests you have not changed the SSID from the default, so don’t worry about that. Line and signal attenuation are very high. Either you’re a long way from the cabinet or it’s a bad line. Downstream noise margin’s low though. Default is 6. That suggests a stable line. Curious.
(I’m going to poke that ant’s nest again – lol. Of course, the exchange equipment may be operated by EE).

@Mitutoyo 1st step ssid is your wireless name, password is what you login to connect and to see plus admin your hub if you have one and the same.
Assuming you can then http://192.168.1.254 will open up you connection to the BT hub, you want to go here, Advanced settings, then to Technical Log, and onto the Event Log, I Want and need to know how many pages there are it is important, think it will show you for instance 164 pages, the number is what i want from that.
If i ask you to do a Full Factory reset on the hub then everything goes back to the card index that you have, ssid and the password etc, Go for it, will watch for your reply.
