WiFi hotspots

Well, I can’t access( I don’t know how to really) my previous post about free WiFi advert.

EE said it was resolved. WELL IT WASN’T AND STILL ISN’T.

I even emailed the CEO and had no reply(Terrible) not even an acknowledgment.

Just to remind all,  to access free hotspots, the advert states ALL EE CUSTOMERS and BT broadband customers have free access to these. Well, all EE customers DON’T have access unless you have EE broadband. So I complained  and within 2 days EE  said complaint was resolved. No resolution was sent to me. I contacted ASA and they have confirmed the advert is MISLEADING and they will approach EE and tell them to change the advert.

I am pleased this will happen but I am disgusted not to hear anything from EE .  I’ve been with EE for15 yrs now and I am now thinking about leaving unless I hear from them.

Worth noting that a mobile-only customer should still be able to access EE-WiFi-Auto for free (although recognise that's not what's being questioned here).

Totally agree. Thanks for support

When I’m near a hotspot I press the hotspot button and up the add.

Probably that particular hotspot is part of EE's  WiFi Coverage Boost , a subset of the total EE public EE WiFi network that is accessible free to all EE mobile users. You won't see the same advert at the majority of the EE WiFi nodes. Hence I do not see it at my nearest hotspot.

I have tried to connect to the EE wifi. My EE app says I have access to it.  Please don't tell me they are  false advertising

Hi there @papabrown

Thanks for coming to the community.

You can find full information on the WiFi Coverage Boost you have showing in your EE account, on our How Do I Access WiFi Coverage Boost, page.

If you're trying to connect to EE WiFi this is different to the WiFi Coverage Boost, if you have a new EE Broadband or BT Broadband account you will receive unlimited free access to the EE WiFi network. If you don't have free access, you can buy a voucher for short-term access here

You can find out more information on how to get access here.

Leanne.

Thats not complicated at all then!!!!!!!  (sarcasm alert).

Still dont get it.  Just got a new EE monthly Sim... what can I connect to on the WIFI front... What Wifi names should I look out for?

@papabrown : Have you set up your device to connect to WiFi Coverage Boost as per WiFi Coverage Boost ?
