Have looked at utube for clues, have used the wps button on router, no joy.
Also reset printer to forget the old connection.

It is possible your printer is only using WPA2 for WiFi Encryption and if using EE Smart Hub Plus or Pro you may have selected WPA3 - try WPA3 Personal Transition (or WPA2) if that’s the case.
Only reasonably new stuff will be WPA3 compliant and sometimes not all of that.
The only way you would know is try to change it under Advanced WiFi Settings on the router as finding out all devices encryption level compatibility can be hard going.

@Jeannie1951 : You do have this option when you login to your router @ http://192.168.1.254 .

Log in to your router from a connected device. Change the WiFi mode to WiFi 5 (instead of 6 or 6 compatibility).
Then try to connect your problem device again. If it now finds your WiFi, and connects to it, use this as a workaround. You may find that some older devices will only connect (or will be more reliable) in WiFi 5 mode. If there is no difference, switch back to WiFi 6 for maximum speeds.

Ah, that's frustrating. While I've got no affiliation with EE or HP, I've set up quite a few with the same combination.
I know the Deskjet 2700 series are tricky to reset, because of the key combinations.
Log back into your router and check you're on WPA2, WiFi 5 compatibility. Make sure your phone has the latest HP Smart app (unfortunately, I've found the setup on some Android phones unreliable, but always works on an iPad or iPhone and usually works on a Windows laptop).
Do the wireless reset procedure on the printer, usually holding down the cancel and WiFi buttons for 3 seconds. This might take a few attempts. While you're doing this, use a phone/device to scan for wireless networks. Once you see one that says <HP-Setup...> then go back to the HP smart app, and try to add a New printer.
