@peterhull418 : It also seems you can't do this by calling CS.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

Well I have just asked customer services this afternoon  to switch 1571 voicemail  off and they agreed but said it would take 24 hours.

Certainly altering the lower number of rings on my handset than on the 1571 has worked no problem.

Once I am rid of 1571 voicemail I am back to using my Panasonic DECT phone as before .

@peterhull418 Just let the Forum know then when EE have done as you requested....

Hello Peter

Has that been successful or were they fibbing? Please do let us know.

Many thanks

Mike

No it hasn't been successful, they said it would take 24 hrs but that was
48 hours ago!!

What has been more successful is changing the number of rings.

If your handset has fewer rings that 1571 the answer machine on my handset
kicks in before 1571 has a chance to answer the phone but I am wondering if
both systems are answering now.
Peter

@peterhull418 : Both can't answer the same call. It's 1 or t'other. It's easy to check. Once you've listened a msg left on your answerphone then dial 1571 & see whether a msg has been left there from some no. about same time.

OK thanks.
No success in removing 1571 service yet though.
Peter

@peterhull418 : You won't have! Tweaking no. of rings on both is the WTG.
