To set up a broadband but I can’t plug into master socket

I get a EE hub sent to my place now, and I found there is a master socket in my place. But I can't plug broadband into the master socket at home because the connector type doesn't match. What should I do?

It won't be working if it doesn't go live until tomorrow.

Let's stil see a pix of that box in your hand.

That's not the white box with the green connector on L you showed earlier.

Very difficult to tell from the angle on the first picture, but that looks suspiciously like the type of indoor CSP some altnets use.  If so, it needs a fibre cable from the green port to the Nokia ONT then a cat 5e/cat 6 cable from the ethernet port on the ONT to the red WAN port on your router.

Two points though.  The mating faces on the fibre ports are very scratch/dust sensitive so I would not have unplugged that cable.  It really needs the proper cleaning tool applied before it is reassembled.  Secondly, if that is an internal CSP connected to an altnet network EE/Openreach won’t use it anyway.

What is that? Where did you get it from? It looks like an ONT or Fibre modem. Perhaps it's for Virgin?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

No need to be rude, friend.  just because you've not seen one before doesn't mean they don't exist.

Anyway, as retired trade I thought I'd mention it.  I'll butt-out now and let you experts get on with it.

@Denzel99 : I'm not being rude. I'm just flummoxed as to just what it is.

What is it then from your knowledge? I'd really like to know please.

Thanks @Denzel99    as you say not something that is going to help the OP who has ordered EE SOGE. Just an altnet ONT and fibre from a previous service.

@noarijwqk2isk2   let us know how things go tomorrow or when your service goes live.
