I get a EE hub sent to my place now, and I found there is a master socket in my place. But I can't plug broadband into the master socket at home because the connector type doesn't match. What should I do?

Yes, but the point is that it's nowt to do with a EE/OR BB connection particularly when OP states that he has ordered an FTTC partial fibre plan. It was likely there already when OP moved in for a previous occupant who had Full Fibre from a non-OR network.
As it's an ONT I just wanted to see what, if anything, the BTw Checker said about ONTs at that location.

@noarijwqk2isk2 On your order and the e-mail that EE sent you mine is "Thanks for choosing EE, James" it gives you every detail about what you ordered, you were asked way back at the start off the post.
You have replied that you are Essential 36, so you will have everything needed to connect to an OR Master or phone socket type connection.

@noarijwqk2isk2 you could call customer services 0800 079 8586 option 2 if you have had confirmation the service is live and you have everything plugged in correctly.

@noarijwqk2isk2 What openreach box are you plugging it into, does it have any lights on it! While your picture clears copy off the electronic version to connecting up a router!
Set up your EE Home Broadband hub | Broadband help | EE
You are aware that although today was the day, and you have received conformation that you are done, not sure if that is from OR or from EE as a text, they still have up until midnight tonight to make it all work!

@noarijwqk2isk2 so what did customer services say?
You could remove the two screws on that faceplate and plug the filter into to the hidden socket and see if that helps.
But given its age the chances are it will need an engineer to check the line is still connected.

@noarijwqk2isk2 If you cannot follow the connection diagram on the copies link's etc then you have the cable plugged in the wrong place, using the wrong connection to that socket! Dual socket top connection straight in small RJ11! See page 1 that @Mustrum supplied to you...
@Mustrum Still cannot rule out if OR have connected them up yet, but at least they will have the fighting chance wiring if the connect it in the right place! After that then down to OR for testing!

Take the cable that comes from the router & is plugged into that dangly DSL filter out of the dangly filter & plug it instead into the top socket of that BT socket box.

Hi,
I'm someone that's been trying to help and just thought I should reply in here.
She has two sockets going to the apartment. One is fibre with G.Network and the other is the BT line.
She's plugged the EE router to the BT line (top port) and it's still not getting a connection. I doubt it's live 😄
I've never really used fibre at an apartment before so sorry if my knowledge is wrong. From what i know with the package she has she will need an ONT box. There isn't one at the apartment but from reading this thread it seems the Nokia can act as an ONT? Is that correct?
If so if she uses RJ45 to connect to the Nokia device do you think it'll work? I'm not sure if it just works like that 😄
Let me know 🙂
