Switching to cheaper deal before package starts

So a couple of weeks ago I switched from Now TV Broadband to EE Broadband as I have my sim contract with EE and it worked out cheaper overall. There is no full fibre available at my property, so the max speed I can get is 74Mb/s, and that is going to cost me £30.99 a month, with the service activating on 27 November. Now, in their Black Friday sale I see the same package on offer for £29.99 a month. It is only £1/month difference, but to be honest I wouldn't mind saving the money as I don't think I'm locked in yet.

My question is, how easy is it to switch to this package?

I spoke to their billing team who told me that I'd have to cancel this current package and then sign up for the new Black Friday one and they then passed me on to the Value team who were supposed to help me do that. But, when I spoke to the Value team they told me that it wouldn't be possible as the order has already been place. This response didn't make much sense to me and I'm wondering if they just didn't want to give me the deal. Thought I'd ask here to get a bit more info before I phone them back.

@Tmurphy09  You already have the answer, you will need to cancel your current order, otherwise the computer will say no.

That said given how close it is to Black Friday with all the ads you really should be shopping around at this time year.
