Hi, so we recently binned off BT as the cost was stupidly high and switched to EE on the 900mb fibre on the new super hub.
I cant get any of the 4k firesticks to work. it connects but then says not network even though when you run the network test it come back with it being connected.
The Alex;s wont connect.
Smart plugs wont connect.
Pc and Laptop have issues,
Smart cameras wont work either.
I've tried the compatibility mode then everything just crashes. Currently I'm having to tether to get the firesticks to work. Anyone got any suggestions before I launch the router out the window?

@Zane79 Yes on the new system there is also HELP get's EE to check the BB connection, PHONE to check that and a few others... All to the same 66033 text number, and assumes that the mobile does send it etc....
When they call you back it normally display's as EE or BT Guide calling in the mobile display.

@Zane79 If you were using the BT Smarthub2 and still have it, then just put it back on, it works fine with the EE system connection.

Compatible WiFi should be the WTG.

@Zane79 So what hub is it that you have from EE then, take a look at the link and say.

I have hub 6 plus ( waiting for hub 7 plus ) but found enabling ‘compatibility mode’ ( under WiFi settings) resolved connecting some devices.
and if this is causing you issues - change the SSID or set the main SSID to WPA ( legacy & not transition ) - as worked for me.
Hope this works for you.

@Clever_Trevor Do not think it is allowed in the latest FW to change the Main SSID back to wpa2 anymore, so that is the reason to use the compatible mode now.

Hi,
looks like you are right.
when I first received the hub 6 plus, the WPA option was there & I set that for the main ssid.
Seems over night the firmware updated & now this is missing - I only have transition.( which is the default )
however, seems to work fine - but another option might be enable & connect to the guest network.
cheers,

@Clever_Trevor It all happened with the FW update Feb 2025, caused a MAJOR issue and that forced EE to tell me to GO. The hub did work and it maintained the WPA2 settings as i had all set previous, but it messed up all the Asus connected gear that did not like the Transition, EE tried to force me to do a Full Factory reset, but i new what the issue was, it ground the network connection to a complete halt in that overnight update.
The guest network ONLY works on a Hub, and NOT on any smart wireless units if you have, but the comp works on everything as far as i am aware... Nothing for me to check, but you will also now have the FREE EE WiFi transmitting from your 6 and 7 plus hub as EE turned that stupid feature on!

I've got a BT Smarthub 2 and having been moved from BT to EE am now not able to use the firestick. Connects to wifi but not the internet. Not sure what else I can do. Done every hard reset I can think of and turned off 5GHz and still not working. Everything fine on smart TV just nothing through the firestick. Any more suggestions welcome!
