Smart Hub Pro WAN speed limited to 100 mBPS

I have just taken delivery of a Smart Hub Pro. I plugged it all in and let it settle down and update.

On going to the web interface I noticed that the WAN speed is set to 100 mbps.

When I plug in my Smart Hub Plus it is 1000 mbps

Any ideas what the issue could be?

Which EE BB plan are you on including its speed?

@Ewan15 Have a close look at the Pro router wan socket to see that there is a pin not out of alignment, need all 8 connections to get 1000 speed, one bad pin will do it, Status in the web manager will show you the link to the ONT.

@JimM11  Turns out the built in cable I was using was a built in BT CW1308, which whilst containing 4 pairs, is not a network cable. My Previous two routers SH2 and Smart Hub Plus were able to get 920mbps out of it, (its officially rated at 35mbps for data!)  despite it being wired differently at one end from the other. The Pro is very sensitive to crosstalk and the resultant drop in signal strength.

@Ewan15 That is why i said throw a couple of Gb/s switches in, the PRO has 2.5Gb/s ports, they may not like the cable - cable connection, but the switch will act as a lower speed buffer.... And wiring should be point to point or correct crossover if you care to look at the EIA spec T568A or T568B. Something like the TL-SG105S.

@JimM11  It must have been correct crossover otherwise it would not have worked at all

@Ewan15 Looks like you need to pull a new CAT 8 cable in then and get the max speeds that you need.
