Sent new router power adapter

Just took delivery of new power adapter for router.  I didn’t order a new adapter but apparently the originals are faulty and new ones are being sent out to customers with a certain router.
just wanted to check before plugging new one in that this is legit and it is genuinely EE sending out new power adapters to customers. Thanks

Yes, it is legit. EE are sending out replacement PSU for the SH+ as some have been found to be faulty - see EE Sending out Replacement Power Supplies for its Smart Hub Plus's.

I did the exact same thing. After receiving the new adapter i thought it looked legit.  What scammer going to send a free adapter with Royal Mail, with free returns bag to recycle old adapter and the letter looked authentic. But I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a scam so I messaged EE on the app - I’m probably a tad paranoid but can’t be too careful. Long story short the guy had no idea. As is normally the case I wasn’t any the wiser whether it’s legit or not. In the end he told me to carry on using old adapter and I wouldnt be required to send old adapter back. To be fair to him he probably deals more with technical issues but he wouldn’t put me through to another department.

Anyone know if I can buy one off Amazon as need one for Friday this week. EE sending one but it won’t come till the following week. Can’t wait as long as that as no landline, no tv, no Hive so pretty desperate.

@Pacer2003 : If the intended 1 supplied by EE is dodgy, what chance is there of getting a matching 1 that isn't from an online marketplace?

@Pacer2003 You will find the one on this link below!

Thank you. Yes found the link - “currently unavailable “ - must be a run on them. Spoke to EE who told me to go to Currys (EE are posting one anyway, but I didn’t want to wait quite as long as that) so drove 15 mile round-trip only to get there and be told by Currys they don’t sell them in store and that they might be able to order online but that would take at least seven days! Hey ho, I will have to wait. Tech is fine until it goes wrong! So no Internet, no Hive heating or hot water unless manual, no TV, basically no computer and cannot print either as use wireless printer or AirPrint from phone.

All was working fine yesterday. Got up this morning and we had a power cut, power came back on followed by a second power cut within a couple of minutes. I guess this is what has fried the power supply.

Not happy !

@Pacer2003 This other one will do as well. And say's it is in stock. Sorry for the delay in getting back had to sort out daughters new steamdeck.

Had a strange night in playing music and listening to a downloaded podcast or two as well as the rain tipping down outside. Thanks again.
