Restart Hub frequency

Is there a routine frequency the hub should be restarted or is it only when there is a problem? I had a message from EE saying you have not restarted your hub for over 14 days when running a network check.

Routers should not be routinely rebooted but only when there seems a problem with it.

Thank you, there does seem to be a lot of conflicting information about this. I prefer to leave it unless I get issues.

@Maxell Leave it alone, time i reached before EE FW push updated and reset the hub was 75 day's on the EE Smart Hub 6+ version, no need to be switching it off/on for reset's they are designed to run continually and that is the best way to do it.

Only switch it off when you suspect an issue, and if you are still on a copper line then watch what you are doing you dont want the line manager kicking in and forcing your speed down...

Can see why you were a bit alarmed , ive never had any ISP in 30 years message me telling me to restart a router/gateway , only time i have ever done that is if i have input a lot of ports at once some gateways in the past would not fully apply/open the ports sometimes without a full reboot but that was long ago , i cant think of a single reason to reboot a modern router beyond a fault finding process etc & as @JimM11  has mentioned if on copper you could find yourself being slowed down.

I an on 500mbs full fibre but did move from ADSL in June. Thanks for your feedback.

Sometimes routers get their knickers in a twist, fills memory, jump out of range or whatever, & your connections start playing up unexpectedly but obviously. That's the time to reboot & give it a clean sheet. Otherwise just leave it alone to do its own thing!

@Maxell FTTP you don't have to worry about doing reset's to the hub then.
