I transferred to fibre last month and still have the copper master socket and wiring in my hall. I wish to remove the socket and wiring but I need to cut the wire. I presume it still has the 2V DC supply as the copper wire is still strung from pole to the house. I presume it is safe to cut through the copper wire before removal.

No, It is OR property & you are not allowed to touch the wiring. I'm surprised they they did not remove it when you had Full Fibre installed.
If you ever have DV you might find it comes in useful as an extension.

I have digital voice and use an adaptor to place the phone at the position in the hall. The master switch is quite bulky and wish it to be removed as its redundant now.

You shouldn't really but you could remove the incoming wires from the A & B terminals at the extreme back of the master socket & tape them up.
