Reduced throughput of ‘Smart WiFi plus” Ethernet ports - slow

Hi All

I have the 1.6 Gbps package.

I get full speeds over WiFi from both the “Smart Hub Pro” and the Smart WiFi Plus.

My issue is speeds over Ethernet when going via the smart WiFi plus.

The below is using all wired using cat 7e.

ONT -> SMART HUB PRO -> SMART WIFI PLUS -> PC WITH 1 Gbps NIC = ~400 Mbps

ONT -> SMART HUB PRO --> PC WITH 1 Gbps NIC = ~950 Mbps

I didn’t have this issue with my ASUS XT8 prior to the 1.6 Gbps service.

I have checked that it negotiates the same 1000 Mbps it’s just the speed that’s reduced.

any suggestions ?

@Toliver182 When you plug the PC into the back off the Smart Wireless NIC Ethernet port, then the signal between Router and the Smart wireless is ALL over the wireless Wi-Fi signal, that shows you how good the 2 devices are connecting together,  and all the structure comes into play, how far apart, walls, doors, floors etc.

Big difference, Asus XT8 user myself, and the Asus AI mesh wireless backhaul is way better than any ISP router/mesh will ever be...

The smart WiFi plus has two Ethernet ports.

so it’s all wired, and the GUI shows the connection as Ethernet too, not WiFi.

SMART HUB PRO -> SMART WIFI PLUS

Pro to the PC fine

Plus to PC bandwidth reduced.

@Toliver182 So let me just get this straight in MY Head, EE Pro router NIC cable out to the EE Smart wireless and plugged into the back it on one off it's ports, the other port on the Smart Wireless Nic cable off and connected to your PC. Is that all correct, and if so if you swap the to cables over on the Smart Wireless, same result's?

@JimM11

Exactly.

Same results if I switch the cables around.

But if I skip the Smart WiFi Plus extender and go straight to pro router I get full speed ( well full for a 1 GB nic)

Also interestingly, it seems to be one way.

data from the PC seems ok:

@Toliver182 The picture needs to be cleared before i can view, but in the meantime, cable from the pro is giving the wired backhaul to the smart wireless device, and the variable in the system is DOES the spare port tramp along at full speed when wired, or does it take in and shove it over the wireless. Quick and easy test is go to the router, switch off the 5ghz and the 6Ghz wireless signals as a temp test, see what the smart wireless does now on a speed test, is it going down the cable because for sure it cannot go over the wireless as it is switched off at the router.

@Toliver182 Are those two mobile device screen captures? What is it that you are trying to show with those?
