Received email for an early upgrade

Ruabon10

Just received an email inviting me to upgrade early. When clicking on the “see your offers”, it asks you to log in, which I do. It then takes you to another page gathering my information, but it always comes back with the message “something has gone wrong at our end. Please try later”

I also get this problem when doing this from the app.

Ahh well, never mind, will just look around for other providers.

I wish EE would double check that people are eligible for an upgrade.

Because on Wednesday I got an email offering me an early upgrade to my Broadband, and if I do it before the 31st of March. This years price increased would be waived until this time next year.

So I phoned 150 because even sending a text message on Wednesday with the word 'UP' it came back with the same idea about an early upgrade.

But the guide couldn't find any upgrade options available for my account.

Even when I checked my account on the website today it came back with an Upgrade Now option.

Texting UP to 150 is related to your mobile account and not a broadband account.

It's possible the email was encouraging you to change to a higher speed for example and stating that the change wouldn't be affected by this year's price change.

These offers work better for some than others.

Yep, I had exactly the same experience today. Does not exactly fill you with confidence.

Both, I suspect a hangover from being on a legacy contract, you could give the Broadband Care team a call to see if they are able to come up with a suitable new plan - it has worked for me in the past.

Seems to be an epidemic of them. You're the 3rd in 1 hour. Looks like EE's emailer has a glitch.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

I had the same problem, I even phoned a guide today as my email said you qualify for an early upgrade & if I do it before the 31st of March, the price would be frozen until next year.
But as she said there’s no available upgrade package for my account.
I even posted that on here in case other people had, had the same problem.

Same experience: eventually found the link worked via another browser (Chrome) - offer was essentially to upgrade to fibre 500 for £34.99 per month. Not very tempting as I’m happy with my current fibre 150 so why pay an extra £6?even after the April increase?

scratching my head as to what this offer is supposed to be of benefit really
