Device List in Hub Manager v EE App

Hi all.  I have connected to FTTP with EE moving away from BT for the better EE hub.  On the BT Smart Hum you could log in to the hub manager via IP address and edit device names, set static IP addresses etc.   However with EE you have to do it via the App.  Not sure why it is like this.   What I do not understand is is that the device list inhibits manager does not correlate to the list on the EE App.   Some devices are shown in Hub Manager, yet not in the App.   Some devices I have re named in the App but names not changed in Hub Manager.
Is this a common issue?  Is there  work around to get them to sync ??

Many thanks

@Hercs1494 You do not have to use the app for setting static device ip's it can be done via the web manager, but you do have to use the app for renaming devices, those stick pretty good app wise, but will not always transpire to the web interface when you look at the devices. Http://192.168.1.254 will open up the web manager interface.

I certainly find the hub manager (via browser) and the EE app both very clunky. You can get locked in a circle with the hub manager sending you to the app and the app sending you to the hub manager. Even though I have around 35 devices connected the app shows 95. If you search there some discussions about this in here. It seems the only solution is to manually delete old devices. I’ve never been able to set up WiFi controls.
My view, after a lot of frustration, is that the broadband and router deliver me fast speeds and reliable service. I fiddle with the settings when I have to. For eg, I had problems with an Epson printer.
I run regular speed tests and when I see the results (I have the 1Gbps fibre) it makes the other issues go away.

@HenryTudor8 The app will show ever device that has ever tried to connect and no longer attached but the 35 to 95 does seem very excessive, think mine normally run 16 directly connected to the EE router, total about 27 and app varied from 30 to 35, and i did same as you removed them from the app, but eventually just said stuff it, could account for most devices, the ones i could not were grand children's friends as she would pass the security to them as they visited, kids got to be on all the time. did not matter to me.

Web interface my preferred method, mobiles are for making calls and text's and did have the app fully functional although never used it to any extent apart from when some one asked is the app working and i would check and reply.

@JimM11  thanks.  I have the Hub manager running on my desktop and App on my phone.  The name changes on the App don’t always correspond with the web interface.  Some devices are shown on web interface and not on the app.  There is just no consistency with either.   Bit difficult when you’re trying to manage a network.. The web interface seems most reliable and consistent.  I can’t see why the changes can’t be done by both…? Instead of bouncing between the 2

I’ve named all my devices so I don’t have the issue of looking at either odd names or MAC addresses and scratching my head.  I will eventually set up a Separate Guest Network with its own SSID on a separate AP so when visits are around they are connected to a separate network with internet access only and complete off my home network

@HenryTudor8 100% agree, the web interface should be set that it can do everything, but EE have made the decision that the app is how they want to go and that is it, you need a mobile smart enough and fast enough to get it done. The app to web naming is what it is, if the luck is in the router matches, if it say's no then the name remains on the router, but at least the app keeps what you have given, so you can look at that, i just note the mac address and compare to be sure.
