Internet suddenly stopped working and advised by technical support that it was due to a faulty power adapter and that one would be sent out. I can still connect to the internet but after 20 minutes the connection is lost and I have to switch router off and switch it on again in 5 minutes. It’s really frustrating.
I’ve just read that it could take a week until a replacement power adapter is received which is problematic.
The question that I have is whether the power adapter provided with the TV Mini Box could be used instead. Voltages, outputs are nearly identical but don’t want to risk overloading the router and breaking it.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

I wouldn't risk i! Wait for replacement.
That behaviour is typical of the SH+'s faulty PSU along with flashing green/white light. See EE Sending out Replacement Power Supplies for its Smart Hub Plus's

@Angus59 As long as it is the same voltage which is 12vDC Centre positive and the current rating is similar, connection fits as required barrel type used is the smaller 3.5/1.35mm on the EE Smarthub+ Router then go for it!

Thanks for the advice.
The replacement power adapter arrived today (less than 24hrs) so internet up and running fine.
Must say I’m very pleased with service provided and the advice given by support.
