I have received my EE TV Pro Box prior to connecting up to EE when I leave my current ISP. I have set it up and getting used to the menus and functions. I have chosen SMART power function using 2300 to 0900 for the deep sleep period. After the first night on this power mode I clicked on the remote to start it up. Nothing happened. I pressed the button on the front of the box. Nothing happened. I switched off and on the power supply and it started. I shouldn't have to do this every time. I'm now going to keep in on the 'Always Ready' power mode to see if this solves the problem. Even if it does I should still be able to use the SMART mode.

Unless you are currently on either EE or BT broadband you will not have the full EETV home page and menus.
When are you due to have your EE broadband activated ?

I have signed in to the box with my current ISP and have full functionality except for those channels which I will have when I switch to EE which should be sometime this week.

I set the box to Always Ready and left it overnight. The following day the box started straight away. I am now going to switch to SMART power mode to determine if the problem is repeatable.

Both my original EE TV Box Pro and its replacement become completely unresponsive to the remote's power button after entering Deep Sleep in SMART mode. The only way to recover the box is to disconnect and reconnect the mains power. I suspect a firmware or power-management issue common to both units. Please confirm whether this is a known issue and whether a software update is available.

Thanks for the update, @CaptJohn51.
Sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue with both your original and replacement EE TV Box Pro.
As both boxes become unresponsive after entering Deep Sleep in SMART mode, I'd recommend getting in touch with our technical support team, who'll be able to investigate this further.

It is unlikely that you have received two faulty boxes.
When the TV Box Pro is deep sleep it only responds to IR commands , so the remote needs to be in line-of-sight and pointing at the box for it to wake up when you press the power button. It takes nearly two minutes for the box to wake up from deep sleep.
When the box is on, or in always ready mode, it responds to Bluetooth commands, so line-of-sight with the remote isn't then a requirement.
