Openreach do not want to be reached.

I got a 'reminder' from Openreach to sign and return a works permission form.

This was done three days ago and I don't see a way of contacting Openreach.

Text message failed and most of their 'help' pages tell people to contact their internet supplier.

I have a date fixed for installation (74 days after ordering!) so I assumed that the permission had been received.

Is it safe to ignore 'reminders' from Openreach?

No wonder OR don't speak to customers! Utterly hopeless. EE say they are going to ask for a proper explanation.

Latest 'progress' on the path to fibre happiness is that some helpful soul has switched off my old (working) BT account in readiness for my still uninstalled EE fibre connection. I would have thought that the time for that would be after the new service is up and running rather than before. I'm a silly old pensioner though so what do I know?

@gfb45 Hopefully they only did the account, and you still have a working Broadband connection!

I'm signed into EE wifi which is a bit slow. Signed in with my BT credentials! Mini hub on its way to speed things up while Openreach continue to blunder on and not even tell EE what's happening. (not a lot)

Mini hub arrived and is hopeless. Or the local signal is... 1.43Mbps.

@gfb8846 You will be in one off those area's that EE has great coverage indoor/outdoor 4G/5G on there coverage site, well that is one pie in the sky. But there is nothing much you can do about it, and for sure Hybrid is not going to be an option for you either!

Try ordering fibre. Just had a text adding another month to the wait for installation. Ordered in April of this year. Order tracking in the wonderful EE app is still non-fuctioning.

Another text, another delay. Fibre that I ordered in April of this year is now due to be installed early September.

@gfb8846 Delay's nothing you can do, just think order Sept2024 installed Jun 18th 2025, so that's a little bit longer off a delay!

Fibre joy... 900! Only lasted a month though and waiting for OR to fix something external. Waited in all morning for an engineer no-show and EE tell me it could be another three days.
