This morning there is new Pro router firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and it starts by saying use HTTPS which is then says is not available. It then requires the admin password to get into any level of access. Now testing out what it does.
It allows you to set your own DNS servers in DHCP.
It still does not let you lock the 2.4G WiFi to a channel, it keeps reverting to Channel 11

I spoke to my complaint handler a little over an hour ago and it's been escalated to the team who deal with the hub/firmware supposedly. They (quite rightly) are confused as to why it only appears to be affecting me if it is indeed fw related - it's a shame we're unable to up/downgrade fw ourselves as this would prove my suspicions beyond doubt.

I get the impression that many people have problems with the pro equipment yet EE tell everyone that they are the first person who has reported this problem. To get any kind of service out of my EE broadband I am having to use 3rd party WiFi for my 2.4G and a separate Dnsmasq DNS and DHCP server.
At the moment even with my own addons I still cannot use WiFi calling on any phone and have terrible stuttering on Teams calls.
The only good thing in the last firmware update was the ethernet backhaul between the extenders and the router is now stable and works and they hand off the connections well as your phone moves around the house (5 &6G).

@tnj Have just replied to
@Huggons1 The Pro and the Plus now reach unity with each other not 100% sure that https is used on both now....
FW: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version 3.1.3. 17/09/2025 Now https:// For the EE Pro version
FW: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 3.1.3. 10/10/2025 Now https:// For the EE Plus version
The Plus was rock solid on wi-fi calling (Android) certainly using an EE 5G sim as i was in one off those reported 4G super signal indoor/outdoor areas like that was correct and NO signal whatsoever, without wi-fi calling the mobile phone was a useless device, stabilising the wi-fi mesh auto hop side just may have knocked the wi-fi calling out off the park!

@PortableFrank wrote:I see it in the app - it won't load but the issue is affecting wired connections as well as wireless, speed tests from the app don't work either.
WiFi Enhancer (contrary to its name) operates across both the WLAN and LAN.
Seems something is definitely iffy with your account if there are other elements of the app that aren't working too 😕

I've borrowed some equipment from work and I'm back online, the upload speed is 120-130 as it should be, I'll report back when I hear from EE next week!

Today’s update:
EE have asked me to send the most recent hub I’ve used directly to a chap in Ipswich for further investigation.
They are also sending a new hub with the old firmware and I’ve got to give them the serial number before plugging it in so they can try to prevent automatic updates.

@PortableFrank : How did they ask you? Was it by email?

Phone & email, I’ve spoken directly to my case handler in Executive Complaints on quite a few occasions now.

@PortableFrank : What was the email's sender's email addy? PM me with it please. I'm looking into another user's email convo with EE Support whose email addy looks suspicious.
