This morning there is new Pro router firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and it starts by saying use HTTPS which is then says is not available. It then requires the admin password to get into any level of access. Now testing out what it does.

It allows you to set your own DNS servers in DHCP.

It still does not let you lock the 2.4G WiFi to a channel, it keeps reverting to Channel 11

Re setting your own DNS. It does work but it maintains a path to the EE DNS server, via the router gateway

I think I've got an issue with this firmware, commenting in case anyone else has the same problem.

Since 2nd October I've had an upload speed of 0.01 which has rendered the connection unusable. I've had an Openreach engineer and a BT engineer out, both visits have resulted in a replacement hub.

The first time it was swapped, the hub worked for 2-3 days before stopping again.

When the second replacement modem was left and the connection was working once again I made a note of the fw version, which was r2.64.6-R-1303886-PROD-1. Overnight this updated to r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and once again my upload speed is 0.01 and I'm unable to use the connection.

@PortableFrank There has been an issue with this firmware and Apple devices not connecting over WIFI, logged within this thread. Thought it worth mentioning in case you are an Apple devotee.

@PortableFrank All upload's for every device, some devices or just complete failure for everything.?

No I'm not but thank you!

All uploads for every device, wired or wireless. I've had an open complaint since it started last week and I'm waiting to hear back re my latest update. I know I could buy third party kit but my connection isn't exactly cheap, so I expect the hub provided to function as it should. I've been offered cancellation of the contract penalty-free but I'm going to give it a bit longer, I'm just frustrated that, so far, I've done a better job of diagnosing the issue than both the engineers who came out.

@PortableFrank what results do you get when you run a speed test via the EE App to see if your speed guarantee is being met? I am wondering whether it is a dirty fibre connection or something is not quite right with the link between you and EE.

If it was to do with the firmware I would have expected many more  customers to be complaining.

I haven't tried via the EE app, using fast.com last night I got 1.9gb down and 120mb up - if it was dirty fibre I'd expect the issue to be constant and not coincide with the change of hub/fw versions, plus Openreach also confirmed the light reading was good.

Definitely a bug and I see it too. Hopefully the custom servers are considered primary for the most part though (I don't typically rely on this feature as I roll my own DHCP/DNS).

@PortableFrank - do you have the Wi-Fi Enhancer feature? If you do, what happens if you try running the 'Ping Optimiser' again?

I see it in the app - it won't load but the issue is affecting wired connections as well as wireless, speed tests from the app don't work either.
