New Pro Firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 for router and extenders.

This morning there is new Pro router firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and it starts by saying use HTTPS which is then says is not available. It then requires the admin password to get into any level of access. Now testing out what it does.

It allows you to set your own DNS servers in DHCP.

It still does not let you lock the 2.4G WiFi to a channel, it keeps reverting to Channel 11

I have always had the hub firmware update check run when setting up the the router in the app. However it never works and never actually updates the router, even if the firmware is out of date and there is an available update.

My Smart hub pro is still sitting on r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1

@tnj There is no forced FW update for an EE Router as far as i am aware, but going to put this out there as i did see a BT Smarthub2 do it with a Factory Reset on the 1st April 2025 when i set the unit up mid March, there was not much on it at the time so was a quick and easy way to do it, also on that model way more extensive advanced logging so spotted the sucker straight away with the FW update from the log file.....

EE i never Reset as would not take the chance off it messing all the setting's up as between the web interface and the stupid app it takes hours to get the Router to were you need it to be especially with NO backup/restore feature!

@Huggons1 Earlier in this post @Ewan15 updated two versions rapid on his Pro, knew i had seen it somewhere else!

@Huggons1  It could be that if you are version  r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 it may not update, possibly as it is a minor update.

I will plug in my other SH40J which is on  r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 firmware and see if it updates overnight

I have a pro router with  r2.64.7-R-1303938-PROD-1 and whilst it is not connected very often it has not been offered any updates since April.

My pro router with r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 last updated in September.

My extenders are all on r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and they all updated the same night as the router.
