New EE's Full Fibre BB (FTTP) only running at max 950mb ? Should be 1.6 Gbps !

I had my new install today and its only running at max 950mb down and 115 up and it should be 1.6gbps

I have the new EE SMART Hub ! Can someone advise ?   I have Cat 8 Cable connected to the Yellow Ethernet ports.

Does it matter what port you put it in as its not got any label or marks to say otherwise. please advise as I am paying £25 more to get these faster speeds that I don't currently get.

I have returned it to Currys and ordered one with 2.5gb Lan ports instead

@iJason Have you checked the colour of the ONT nic port, or do you already know that it is the correct one?

@iJason  Which router did you opt for in the end?

Decent router - only reason I switched to the Orbi is because it kept stuffing up an old Samsung TV.

None of the ports support 1.6gb.. only upto 1000.. that's the reason I
dropped that package because EE sell you speed they cannot deliver with
their current hub. My advice would be to downgrade to 900mb until they can
deliver 1.6

@iJason It's not the BE550 hopefully!

You can rule out any router issues by plugging straight from the ONT to a laptop or PC with enough memory / SSD that would sustain fast data rate transfers.

Set the NIC to auto detect and you should pickup a public address.

Do a speedtest and if you see at least 1.6Gbps then you know its the router. If you still see less than 1Gbps then its an ONT issue.

Well turns out you can get max speed with ipad pro 13 or iphone max !   Just did wi-hi speed test and If I am near the EE Smart Hub I do get 1.4gb down and 110 up So I am happy with that for now until my new Router turns up so you can get these speeds using the HUB so thats good to know.
