New EE's Full Fibre BB (FTTP) only running at max 950mb ? Should be 1.6 Gbps !
I had my new install today and its only running at max 950mb down and 115 up and it should be 1.6gbps
I have the new EE SMART Hub ! Can someone advise ? I have Cat 8 Cable connected to the Yellow Ethernet ports.
Does it matter what port you put it in as its not got any label or marks to say otherwise. please advise as I am paying £25 more to get these faster speeds that I don't currently get.

Wi-Fi 7 device coming as an add-on in the coming weeks and on some plans.
It should be included in the 1.6Gbps package for existing customers (not as an add-on if that's their plan) 😠

@garetc It may all balance out in the long run premium product, premium price as one OP pointed out, and as you say your router is WAY better than anything ISP supplied, you can bet it will be so locked down to stop the fiddlers playing. Does say included with some, and addon feature for other!

@JimM11there's no way they're going to be able to charge more than they currently are for the 1.6Gbps even with a Wi-Fi 7 device.

@garetc Unless they go symmetrical and push up the speed a little, which relies on OR and may even be in the pipeline... With some details specific, pinch of salt until confirmed.....

True I think I saw something online recently that OR were looking at it in certain areas.
Around here we have an Altnet who offer 900Mbps symmetrical for less than £35 (with plans to offer faster speeds in the future).
It'll be interesting to see if they can compete when BT/EE release the new packages.

Here is some info on Openreach doing symmetrical speeds from a week or so ago.

I wonder if the launch of the new WiFi 7 router will tie into the release of Windows 11 24H2 update as this is needed for WiFi 7 on compatible PC (even then i had a pig of a time finding the right driver for my Qualcom WiFi 7 adapter)

@cliffy37 Everyone is going to have the same kinds of issue's wi-fi 7 features are not all fully integrated with software/FW yet so expect a few upset's along the way, but if you know what to expect then half the battle.

I wonder if the new Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro etc. Can do a wired back haul, like my TP Link deco BE65. I have two units, so will be cool to find out when ppl start getting them with there packages. My WiFi at home now is rock solid because of the wired back haul.
