I have signed up for "new" EE broadband as an "upgrade" from "legacy" EE broadband; both being full fibre (FTTH). The sales agent suggested I needed to plug in the new Smart Hub Plus on activation date for it to activate. Is this really the case or will it just switch to the new contract on activation date using the existing Smart Router, that is connected at the moment?

@srb if you put it the other way round, and connect the new hub as soon as you get it then you should not see any difference when it activates.
My suggestion for doing it this way is if your router is still using the old legacy username and password, this may not work on New EE - not something I know for sure, but might be something to consider.

I was hoping that the new EE connection would see the old Smart Router, and would set anything required such as username on activation date but maybe this isn't the case? I had read that old Smart Router should work but is that after a disconnect and reconnect?
