Hi.
I am moving house next month. I currently have an EE contract for another year. The new property has BT broadband. Please help me understand issues I may face. Is a direct switch possible without penalty? Anything else I need to be aware of in advance of talking with EE? Thanks!

@369 There is nothing to consider, you just have to do the Home move all before and in plenty time ahead off your move to avoid any ETF and with a new 24 Month period sign up. See the EE Linked information below. If you wish to go to BT that is your choice and best you talk it over with EE before hand. It is the other homeowners that opted to have BT as there ISP for the Broadband connection and you need to see if EE does cover it as well.

It is irrelevant whether the new property already has BB & with whom. You just do an Home Move with EE under your existing contract as described by @JimM11 .
Can you be sure you can get like-for-like BB at the new property? What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker > Address Checker estimate for your new address? Post the whole table, the text below it and the line above it, blanking out your address. What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on currently including its speed?
