Long time to get Broadband installed?

Bit surprised that it will take until 19 December to get back on line?   Moving house on 12 Dec, and already a mobile customer. Previously BT Scot many years. Don’t understand what takes so long?

There can be lots of reasons, not least engineer availability and allowing for any cease on the previous occupant's services, and how soon in advance you placed the order. and of course the weekend inbetween.

Good luck with the move.

@MeOct : Existing ISP there must give present occupants 2 weeks notice that someone is trying to take over their line.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
That makes sense…..apart from the fact that the existing occupant is also with BT/EE and is moving out & staying with BT too. You just feel like if there was a human bean co-ordinating this, the sensible thing would happen and it would be seamless..

@MeOct   like I said, it could have been had you placed the order earlier, alas Ofcom rules kick in and appropriate notice period kicks in to prevent unwanted takeovers.

Nothing to do with beans or BT/EE.

To prevent slamming each individual must be treated individually by each individual ISP. BT is a separate ISP from EE.
