Chris_s,

I don't think you have read what I have been saying. I know exactly how Voicemail works and with regards to notifications. What I and others are trying to tell you is that this is not working on our landlines. It use to, but is not working now. As I said I have been onto all your technical departments and nobody knows why we are not getting the correct notifications and nothing has been done about it. I gave up long ago trying to get it sorted, I only came back to the conversation as I for some reason got an email connecting me to this topic.

Digital phones with multiple handsets and information screens have been out for a long time. They worked with no problems on the analogue system but since Digital Voice (which is not the same as Digital Phone) the Voicemail notifications are not working. In other words ever since I have had to plug my phone into the back of the router instead of the main phone socket as was. I have even contacted the technical department of the manufacturer of my phone system and they assured me that it is not the fault of the phone as the phone does not generate the notification signal it is generated at the local exchange, where ones Voicemail is situated I believe.

There are settings under My Settings controlling what emails you get from the Community. Either:

  • No emails under Personal > Email Settings
  • Various filters under Subs & Notifications > Notification Settings

I'll add my name to someone affected by this. I had EE fibre installed Thursday with the phone service switching over on Friday, and one of the reasons for choosing EE was the included voicemail. Not having the intermittent dialling tone [or indeed any other indication of a message] makes voicemail next to useless.

If this is the case, then EE need to change their support pages to make this clear and remove the incorrect wording ASAP.

My phone does indicate missed calls, I guess it requires a 1571 call whenever that is the case.

I'll give support a call on Monday, but from the postings here it doesn't look like that will be the most successful call I'll make.

I wonder how many people have voicemail messages and just don't know.

@Richardr66 Keep the forum updated as to how you get on with support, anything is useful with regards to any fixes, some users now moving onto the new range of Pro router's and not known yet apart from one posting in the digital home phone section.

Having spoken to support, they reckoned that it was down to the telephone. I have a wired one that I have had for a bit [branded BT] and plugged that straight into the Smart Hub Plus. The view was that the hub couldn't send the voicemail indication to an older phone. I would need one of their new digital home phones for it to send the tone.

Has anyone got this issue with a new EE/BT digital home phone?

I bought a BT4000 recently. Voicemail interrupted tone still doesn't work. I need to make a formal complaint about this.
