Hi all.
I am considering leaving EE broadband with 11 months left on my contract. Before the rises come in during March, they are working out around £13 a month more expensive than a rival offering twice the speed.
The rival company are willing to compensate me for the early termination penalty incurred if I move to them, and said I need to get written confirmation of the fee estimate, even if that's just a simple email from EE saying "Your early termination penalty will be £X"
I've been on the phone twice to them, and on both occasions they have said they cannot provide a hard copy / written estimate of my termination penalty amount. I don't see why this should be the case, but they seem adamant.
Has anyone been able to acquire something like this from them in the past?
Thanks in advance.

You can only get a confirmation of this amount when it is billed upon your service being cancelled and the gaining provider will likely only accept a bill showing this amount as evidence for their switching offer.
This is standard for switching offers in the industry, where the customer usually pays the early termination charges in the first instance and is then (and only then) given a credit to their account which can sometimes then be withdrawn to a bank account, depending on the promotion.
EE will only ever be able to give you a verbal statement of this amount until you do decide to leave and cancel your service, they (and likely every other provider) do not have an official letter format to send "estimated" early termination charges for customers who are shopping around with other providers.
