Did you mean:

Is the DVR Pro really this bad?

I've had mine for about a month, and it's a joke. Issues include:

1. Overheating so that it drops of my network and will not work again until it cools down

2. Recordings fail most of the time

3. Minimal features (if this is the Pro-version, God preserve me from the amateur version)

@Nik_s

1 same with anything that gets to hot,  good air flow around it will help.    You don’t say anything about its location or what’s around it.

Your mobile phone will do exactly the same thing if it gets too hot.

2 that’s a new one to me.

3 it’s got the ability to record unlike the mini hub.    It’s also just a name.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It's in the exact same spot that I used to have Virgin DVR that never behaved in this way. If something is getting to hot, then either the location is too hot, or the device has inadequate cooling. Since the Virgin DVR worked perfectly in the same location, I'm leaning towards inadequate cooling the the DVR-Pro. Also, I have an NVidia Sheild in the same location, that also doesn't overheat.

Every device has different airflow configuration, thermal properties, and power requirements.

It could be a faulty unit also, in which case you should contact EE Customer Service and they will see about getting you a replacement unit if required.

@Nik_s Really just sounds as though you have gotten a potential faulty unit, so until you swap it out you will not know!
