Hi we’ve recently joined EE broadband and throughout the day and evening our wifi drops out for a short while. The internet light button flashes oranges on the router box - is there any way of solving this? I’ve seen on other posts with similar issue la ask also for this detail

Hi @Alicephil

Welcome to the community.

Have you tried looking through our broadband help pages? There are a few troubleshooting checks on there to follow.

I think the post that you viewed was probably answered by @XRaySpeX, who I'm sure will reply to your post when he's next logged in. 🙂

Locate the hidden test socket that is revealed when you remove the bottom half of the split faceplate (2 screws or press tabs) of your master socket. Only do this if you have a split faceplate. Do you have any extension sockets in the home even if unused? Are there any wires connected to back of faceplate of master socket?

Try the BT Quiet Line Test (QLT), dial 17070 Opt 2, preferably with a corded phone, in the test socket with the router disconnected. If there is any noise, report it to your landline provider as a voice fault (don't mention Broadband). Often sorting out voice faults will fix the Broadband as well.

Reboot the router & plug it into the test socket. Post the full router stats & System Uptime when plugged into test socket.

Is the issue any better?

Hello,

Thanks for the replies!
I have tried the phone line - all seems okay I think?

and I’ve rebooted the router in the master socket. Here are the stats… it’s hard to see if there is a difference yet as the dropping out rate was always random and throughout the day!

Was the QLT silent?

When I tried it there was a continuous noise -  and some crackling when I moved the phone cord but other than that okay?

It only seems to happen in the evening (happened twice in the past 10 mins) and seems to fix itself when turned off and on

my router is connected to the test socket via a filter currently.

thanks

Not really. It should be silent between announcements.

Try setting Advanced > BB Settings > DSL mode to G.992.3 (ADSL2) & post full stats from test socket.

Hello

these are my stats from that - I’m not sure if I did it right? My connection was completely lost.

The DSL Mode still set as Auto. You may have to untick "Enable ADSL/Fibre auto sensing" to do this.
