Internet Speed confusion

Hi,

One my street almost all houses have 1.6Gb's speed option but for some reason mine and a small group round mine can only go to 66Mb's surely this must be wrong?

Literally 3 doors down one way and 4 doors down the other way can both get 1.6Gb's but the 6 house in the middle can only get 66Mb's

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

@Micky_D   the first place to check would be the Openreach Fibre checker https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker   which will say what they have available to your property, but also give you an oppertunity to register your interest in future plans if it says Full Fibre is not available.

The BTW checker which all the ISP's rely on can often only show full fibre a number of weeks after Openreach whilst the infrastructure is built and connected in the exchange.

  • The BTw Checker will tell you what you can get now.
  • The OR Checker will tell you what you might get now, when the ISP get round to selling it, or in the future.
