I keep getting lag spikes like every 20 seconds while playing Fortnite

Hello,

I get lag spikes like every, let's say 20 seconds, while playing Fortnite, and it's not good, as it ruins the fun for me. My internet is fine, I have the 73mbps plan, and get approximately 54mbps. I even tried changing to Wi-Fi 6 compatibility and Wi-Fi 5 as well, I think it did help a bit,  but I'm not sure, I kept it on Wi-Fi 6 compatibility.

I've had so many technical problems when moving into my new home, a good afternoon with friends playing Fortnite is so good, so I would LOVE a fix. 😅

Everybody, I fixed it, I just used my old router (Linksys Velop), this is a 3 IN ONE for me, firstly, since I'm a gamer, I can get more speed with this router since nobody else is on this router, secondly, I think I am getting more speed on this than I was on my old one, FINALLY, NO MORE LAG SPIKES!

Thanks to @JimM11 for trying to help, and thanks to GrumpyMan's REVIEWS for making this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tuZ72tYMYM&t=181s

I hope everybody that's had the same problem found this helpful, please let me know! 😁

By the way, I couldn't open the web interface, so try installing the app.

@Shakeel_ What router do you have? Is it all just a fresh install for the BB at the new home, Device you are gaming on what is it, wired or wireless connected to the router. And have you tried anything to get rid, like switching everything off, apart from what you need.

I have the black smart hub, I use a D-LINK DAP 1620 as an extender for my PC, so I can have wired connection like that. I game on a PC, I haven't tried to game alone without anybody using the internet, I think. By the way, what is a "BB"?

@Shakeel_ BB is broadband, take a quick look at link below, pictures of routers, few are black and if you have the EE Smart Hub.

@Shakeel_  BB is broadband.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

EE Smart Hub Plus.

@Shakeel_ So have the EE Smarthub+ set as Wifi 6 performance mode, and using wpa2-personal as the 2 wireless options, you have a difficult situation, and need to rule out that your wireless to wireless connection to the router is not causing your issue. May be the D-Link that is causing it, just no way of knowing,

It's not Wi-Fi 6 performance mode, it's Wi-Fi 6 Compatibility. Thank you for the response, I'm gonna check in some time. 👍

I'm gonna check later, because the router is in the storage room and it gets slow there, it's also hot there, do you think that could damage the router?

@Shakeel_ Probably not, but not the best location for having the EE Router, Out in the open, central position and not sitting at ground level, give the wireless a fighting chance to send its signal about.

And the modes i mention above are how MY router is set, the daughters PS5 is wireless connected, and not once has she complained in any way about performance, but as you will gather not a gamer myself, and ZERO issues with speed, lag or packet issues.
